How to integrate Tagger data with third party software.

Integrating Tagger Data into Third-Party Software

In this document, we will outline the steps that you can follow to integrate tagger data into third-party software. This is achieved by using industry standard XML documents.

Downloading XML from the Game Menu

To download the XML file, follow these steps:

  • in the Game menu, select Download XML
  • in the pop-up dialog, select either Real Time, Video Time or Game Time and click the Download button

Note: if the video is not synched then the XML will automatically be downloaded using the Game Time.

Download Options

Select either the video time, game time or the real time options to use for the 'start' and 'end' time XML elements for the event instances.

Video Time

Video time is the actual video time when the event has occurred. This is set if the game has been tagged using the video tagger or if the live game data has been synched with the video post game. To synchronize the tagged events with the video, you can follow the steps here - Synchronize Video

Game Time

The Game Time is the continuous time from from the start of a period until the end of a period. Each period starts at the configured time. e.g. if 4 quarters of 15 minutes, then the 2nd quarter starts at 15 mins, the 3rd at 30 mins, etc.

Real Time

The Real Time is the continuous time from the start of the game until the end of the game. e.g. the start of the game is 0:00 - if the first quarter lasts 15:30 and there is 2 minutes of a break until the next quarter then the start of the 2nd quarter is 17:30. This is only available on new games going forward.

Team Name in Code

In general the event name is used for the code field in the XML and the team name is a label in the event instance. If you would like to include the team name along with the event name in the code field then select the "Team Name in Code" below.

Include Card Times in Player Time Tracking

Select this to incorporate the time a player is off the pitch due to a card into the player time tracking. This is relevant when using the Manager Mode Function and managing player times.

Filter by period

Select a specific period to download or leave blank to download all periods.

Importing XML into Third-Party Software

Once you have downloaded the XML file, you can import it into the third-party software. The steps for importing the file may vary depending on the software you are using and is outside of the scope of this document. Please check the documentation of the third party tool.

Conclusion

Integrating tagger data into third-party software may sound tricky, but by following these steps, you can easily accomplish this task. Remember to synchronize the tagged events with the video before importing the XML file to ensure that the events are accurately located in the video. With these steps, you can integrate tagger data into third-party software and take advantage of the data to improve your analysis capabilities.
